Picture Polish Wanderlust, New York, Arabian and Big Bang

Hi, Ladies!!

I finished last month's challenge, but wasn't able to post it here.  I'm so sorry.  I'm just too lazy.  I feel like nobody visits this page anyway.  They're all on instagram.

Buuuut, I'm so excited to share with you swatches of the new Picture Polish collab collection!  I am always so happy to see the collab line because I try to imagine what color a nail artist will come up with,  and they ALWAYS, ALWAYS come up with something awesome (my mind doesn't give the colors justice. LOL!).

These 4 colors I chose are from people I look up to.

Here's one from Didoline.

It's Arabian--a Christmas red with little specks of gold, silver and metallic red glitters.  It's a rich color, really opaque. I love how elegant it is alone.  I imagine using this for parties, Christmas or New Year's!

Here, I added an image from Cici and Sisi plate 03.  I wanted the stamping to be really subtle so I do not ruin the lovely color.

Now, next one is from Color4Nails.

New York is a little mauve-y, kind of old rose-y pink, with silver tiny glitters.  It is very, very elegant.  I'm thinking of getting myself a back-up bottle for this because I'm foreseeing a very used NY bottle in the next few months.  This color can be paired with ANYTHING!  Wear it at parties, work, home, you name it.

I just added some colored studs to decorate this mani, I didn't really want to over-do it. :)

From La NPA Mouton / Faustgil, it's Big Bang.

I had to use three (3) coats for this, and you can still see some of my nail bed.  It is a pretty purple color with a lot of colored glitters.  I like it, too, but not as much as the rest of the lot.  Probably because of it being a 3-coater.  I hate to 3-coat polishes.  :(

And in my mind, this design will be awesome, but I totally forgot I had a dark base, and didn't put white underneath the other colors. Sucks for me.   Can you even see the design??? UGH.

Lastly, Wanderlust by NailDecor.

This probably isn't an everyday color, but this is my most favorite among the four colors that I got.  I can't help it, I'm a neon baby.  This is super neon pink, with a lot of scattered silver glitters.  It's a beaut!!  Of course, I expected this from Nail Decor! <3

And I had to tame it down with a little stamping or else I'm gonna blind every single one of you, and myself. :)

I'm wishing I bought the other colors that came along with the collection, but maybe next time.

I got these babies from Polish Please PH.  Polish Please is my favorite, favorite store of them all because they always have the latest stocks and they offer almost all indies I want!!  And not to mention, every transaction is a breeze.  Thank you, Polish Please!

Thank you, Picture Polish for such exciting colors and collections!  Looking forward to the next ones!  **Picture Polish is a 5-free Australian brand.

**All manis except Big Bang were 2 coats with HK Girl Top Coat**

Ciao!!

Days 8, 9 & 10: Metallic, Rainbow, and Gradient #31DC2014

Hi, Ladies!

I'm going to show you three manis today. I feel like I'm so behind blogging that I want to catch up on here.

For the metallic prompt, I just did simple stamping using Essie Armed and Ready as base, and Penny Talk as the stamping polish, with Pueen Image Plate SE04A. (I got my Essies from Polish Please PH.)  Of course, I used Seche Vite Top Coat

I liked how Armed and Ready has gold undertones.  Penny Talk was my second choice for stamping.  I tried to use Buy Me A Cameo but it wasn't opaque enough to be seen over the base.

For the rainbow prompt, I decided to use pastel colors from the Paris In Love Collection (Color Club) which I bought from Polished In The Cityadded Hello Kitty sticker, and Seche Vite Top Coat.

My application of the top coat was a bit sloppy, so I apologize for the bubbles.

For the gradient prompt, I was finally able to recreate (and murder) Kristin's mani.  I used Lofes 114, Girl Stuff Forever Sophia and Color Club Fondue For Two for the gradient, then some acrylic paints for the "flowers."  Oh, and I used Girl Stuff Forever's Matte Magic for topper.  (And Mom, if you're reading this, this mani is for you, because I LOVE YOUUUUUU.  I know you'll say these are pretty because you love me, toooooo.)

I know, I know, I suck at anything related to art.  I cannot, for the life of me, paint a proper flower.  So here are my pretend-flowers.  You may look at them from afar and see the illusion of flowers.  Maybe I should ask my Daddy Jessie for some one-on-one tutorial, but then again, I'm a hopeless case.

Give me a break. :(

Ciao!!

My Top Ten Favorite Nail Polish

Hi, Ladies!

You would think I would have more time this July, eh?  It took me a whole month to think things through.  Somebody asked me what my favorite nail polish was, and I could not, for the life of me, give an answer.  So I thought about it well and hard, and decided to give you ladies a list of my top ten.  And this was excruciatingly difficult. (Plus the fact that I also decided to use the polishes in a challenge.)

So, here goes (in no particular order):

Zoya Tomoko:  My travel go-to polish as it does not need a base nor a top coat.  A textured, elegant gold I can wear casually or during formal occasions.  I can never go wrong with this.

OPI Kiss Me I'm Brazilian:  This is a bright pastel pink that kind of comes off a little neon, if I may say so.  It looks good both on short and long nail beds.

OPI An Affair in Red Square:  This is my go-to red polish since 2005.  This is actually my 4th bottle since.  If I cannot decide on what color to wear,  I just pick this one up.  I used to have really short nails before, and this one looks spunky on it, but also elegant on longer nails. I love this so much!

Picture Polish Honey Dew:  This is a bright mint color that looks so clean and fresh.  I love that it's a light color but is not at all streaky.  This also got me my record-holding MOST likes on Instagram.  I guess everybody likes it, too.

Zoya Kitridge: This is my most-loved baby pink polish.  It is so girly and pretty at the same time.  I love that it's so easy to apply, and is opaque in two coats.

Polish Me Silly Alter Ego:  This is a multichrome that shifts from purple to blue to pink, and at some angles, a little gold.  This is gorgeous beyond words.

Zoya Pippa: I honestly never thought I would have a favorite yellow, because yellow wasn't my type when I was younger.  But this one, is just bright and easy to apply, that I cannot help but love it.  Most yellow polishes are streaky, but this one isn't at all. It doesn't make my skin look pale or awkward, so I heart it!

KBShimmer She Twerks Out: This is a blue-green magical polish.  The glitters in it are varying in sizes and and color (different shades of greens and blues), but everything reminding me of an enchanted forest.  This is my favorite KBShimmer!

NCLA I'm With The Band:  This is a super bright red-orange with gold undertones.  I love it because it is elegantly playful.  My camera couldn't capture the gold undertones really well, but it is very visible IRL.

Zoya Dream:  This is a jelly blue polish with specks of holographic glitters.  2-3 coats will make it opaque.  It reminds me of the sky when the stars are out.

How about you?  Can you please tell me your favorite polish?

PS, I would like to thank Monica of Polish Please PH for supplying me with all of these nail polish.  Polish Please PH is my Heisenberg, kind of.  I get hold of the latest collections, hard-to-find colors and brands, because of her.  I don't know what my life would be without her feeding my addiction.   Every transaction is fast and smooth.

*Please don't forget to click on the link or go to www.polishplease.ph to check on her store, I believe there are a few items ON SALE!*

Thank you for your time!

#fsnailartchallegemay

Hi, Ladies!

How have you been?  Well, I thought I will be less busy this month, but seems like my calendar's filled to the end.

Here's a late post of the challenge I did with my group, #filipinails.  I was busy the whole month of May, so I could only do simple manis.

For the first challenge, it was #floral.

This was inspired by @adelislebron.  I used Essie Go Ginza, which I got from Polish Please.

Then I had to do an #abstract design.  This is as abstract as I can get.  I am not very artistic, you see.  So I used a yellow base for this mani, and I apologize if I totally forgot which. (Either Zoya Pippa or the Tony Moly polish I have.) And then I used some random acrylic colors and used the toothbrush technique to kind of splatter the colors in.

And, please, feel free to laugh at this #skyline mani.  Everyone else was doing Paris, or something romantic and I couldn't put myself into doing those.  I chose a Godzilla which turned out perfectly...like Barney. :((

For the #inspiredby mani, I chose Ada 's leopard+swoosh mani.  I couldn't do her swoosh mani properly so please head on to her account to check her great nail art.  I used Lofes pink and blue for this.

I promise to take note of all the polish I use next time.  It's just that this #galaxy mani got me to bring out a lot of dark, light and glittering polishes that I wasn't able to track every one of them.  This is my 3rd (or 4th) galaxy nails ever.  I still need to practice some more to be able to perfect it.  That's Essie's Sparkle on Top I'm holding, in case you're interested, and got it from Polish Please.

And probably my least favorite technique, but absolutely my favorite mani from this challenge: #tape.  I used OPI's Neon Revolution for this.

All manis used Seche Vite.

Wish you all a good June! Hopefully I can make more manis this month.

Love you long time,

Jamie

Bestie with @mcbnails

Hey, Ladies!

May I just say that I am a free woman?! I have finished all my work for the week so you won't be hearing anything stress-related from me until Monday. Lol!

I have talked about doing a bestie with my newest buddy, Ayen, a.k.a @mcbnails.  She gave me a lot of nail arts to choose from but we settled with @sprinkledwithglitter 's design.

Here.

I used Essie Van D'Go and Inglot 390 for the base, Essie Tart Deco and Bikini So Teeny for the stripes, Gold and Blue acrylic paints, and Seche Vite top coat.  You can purchase your Essie polishes at Polish Please PH, and your Inglot at Glorietta 5.

Oh, here's my solo shot, before I start yakking on:

There.  Let me tell you about my good friend, Ayen, now.   Okay, briefly.

Ayen is one of the bravest women I know.  She suffers from MS, or multiple sclerosis, a degenerative disease (Please correct me if I'm wrong, or google it if you want to know more.)  But you won't even realize that if she doesn't tell you.  She stands strong, and is always beautiful.  Even with her sickness, she finds the time and effort to do the things she loves, including nail art.  Go ahead, check her IG out and see for yourself.  @mcbnails She inspires me because her strength is unbelievable.

I hope to be doing more nail arts with you, Ayen.  Know that I am always here for you.

Enough drama and let's go on with our lives, shall we?

Love you long time,

Jamie

Having a Break

Hi, Ladies!

I don't have any April Fool's joke on here.  I am so stressed out from work, I'm actually still doing my worksheet and just having a break.

I found a design I liked from @anggieanggey and decided to imitate it.

I know, I ruined the pastels with my lousy drawing.  :(

I used Essie Van D'Go, Under Where?, Mint Candy Apple and Zoya Pippa. Skinfood BW704 for he white.  Acrylic paint for the black.  Seche Vite Top Coat. If you don't have any access to these brands, you can check out Polish Please PH

Okay, my time's up! I need to get back to my papers.

Have a good one!

Love you long time,

Jamie
